Sorry about that.
I meant to write up a proper news post yesterday, but real life got in the way. Stupid non-webcomic responsibilities. Pfft. Maybe one day I'll get sucked into my computer, like in Tron. Then I won't have to worry about real life getting in the way. Ooh. And I can have one of those awesome discs.
Anyway, it was a slow week for me but I picked up two real quality issues.
The "Up, Up & Away!" storyline continued in the newest issue of Superman this week, and it's classic superhero stuff. I mean really, really classic. It's just stripped down, honest-to-goodness Superman versus Lex Luthor, the way I grew up with it. The dialogue is sharp, the action is well-paced and the Kryptonian battleship is just plain awesome. I am going to be genuinely sorry to see this storyline end because it's one of the best Superman stories I've ever read.
It's Week Six of the ambitious 52 from DC Comics. Considering how fast-paced things have been moving, I was almost disappointed that most of the issue was spent lingering on a fight between the Green Lanterns and some of China's superheroes. Good stuff all in all, though. Booster Gold's "secret rendezvous" was hysterical and I keep poring over all the details in Rip Hunter's laboratory. This story has me completely glued and I cannot urge you all to read it enough.
Sorry, dear ladyfriend, but I have found a new love...
Mookie loves LORDI!
