Comic Book Day catchup! September 14, 2006 Posted by Mookie
Through the month of August I was buying comic books, and September has been no different. I want to talk at length about all the great comics I've bought, but I'll do a quick "catch-up" list here so I can do a proper Comic Book Day review next week.

Here we go.

Uncle Sam & The Freedom Fighters
Well-written and convincingly patriotic.

Action Comics
Superman versus auctioneers from space. Awesome.

Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.
This is one of the funniest comics I have ever read. If you're not reading it, you're truly missing out.

All-Star Superman
Superman kicks major butt as Clark Kent. Another one of the best titles being published today.

The Trials of Shazam!
I was looking forward to this one for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Great magic superheroics.

Mystery in Space
Lots of old-school sci-fi goodness in this one. It looks very promising.

The All-New Atom
A very cleverly written new title with great characters and good old-fashioned superscience. I highly recommend this one.

The Incredible Hulk
The Planet Hulk storyarc continues to impress me with each and every issue, and it just keeps getting better.

Martian Manhunter
J'onn J'onzz is bad ass. 'Nuff said.

Still tons of great underwater adventure here. The new Aquaman is a charming punk, the Dweller in the Depths is mysterious and King Shark cracks me up.

This is a masterpiece. The ending of Week 19 absolutely floored me. Read. This. Comic.

Thanks to all of you who have ordered Seers' Digest. There are lots of orders to take care of but I'll have them all sent out by the end of this week. It's still up on sale in the Seers' Catalog, so go take a look while supplies last!

And as a last-minute addition to my convention schedule, yours truly will be attending Oni-Con next month. If you're down here in the Texas area be sure to come and say "hi" to this newcomer to the Lone Star state.
