Instead of trying to list all the comics I bought this week (because there are far too many of them, thanks to World War 3 coming out all four issues at once), I thought I would instead point y'all in the direction of a couple of things that really made me smile over the past couple of weeks.
First up, it's SPWUG. When I received my copy of this brand new magazine, I was really proud to be a part of it. Everything from the writing, to the artwork, to the overall content and even a guest appearance from Captain Space! really made working on this issue worthwhile. I've been asked to contribute to the next issue as well, which makes me extra excited. This is a great fledgling magazine. Let's help it fly.
Back in 2001, when I was a senior in college, I was invited to be a part of a small student film... and by student film, I mean kung-fu movie... and by kung-fu movie, I mean CHOP SAKI JUSTICE! While I only play the role of a recurring thug / henchman, I have the distinct honor of being in every single fight scene. Granted, I get taken out pretty quickly each time, but the only other character that's in every fight scene is the hero, Kung Fu Lou.
This film is funny for all the right reasons and finally seeing it six years later brought back a lot of good memories. So if you have about twenty-two minutes to spare, check out the most fun I ever had acting in college.
Here's hoping he decides to do a sequel before we all hit thirty.
And finally, why the hell did I wait so long to start playing Okami? This is one of the most beautiful and original games I've ever laid eyes on. Much love for the wolf goddess.
