Updating Through the Holidays

The holidays are coming up! Or at least the ones I celebrate. For some it was last week. But anyway, it’s Christmas week for me and in years past that has signaled the beginning of my annual holiday break, where I cease updating until the new year.

But I don’t adhere to that any more, not since I implemented my regular “week off between chapters” schedule, which has been very helpful for me in the long run. However, it does mean that I don’t give myself the holidays off any more, so I have to plan to update during this time of year.

Which is what I’m scrambling to do this week. I would have given myself more time to get ahead with a comics buffer, but the amount of people who took advantage of this year’s Holiday Sale to score commissions interrupted the production of comics. I’m very grateful for that! But my prioritizing their custom art means that I’m going to be working right up through Christmas Eve.

Adding to that is my son’s last day of school before his Christmas break, which is only a half day today. So on top of having to get comics done and the last of my monthly exclusive art for my wonderful Patreon patrons, there will be an eleven-year-old itching for entertainment. I’m confident that I’ll get it done and still be able to enjoy my holidays, but it might be coming in under-the-wire.

Like so many things, I’ve brought this on myself. There’s nothing actually stopping me from also taking a week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and I doubt many of you would scold me for doing so! But I’m putting this pressure on myself to deliver because I feel I owe it to all of you for your years of love and support. For all you’ve done for me, the least I can do is stick to the update schedule you’ve all come to expect.

And y’all deserve new comics over your own holiday breaks!
