This weekend I’ll be heading out to a convention I’ve never done before! Catch me in the Omaha, Nebraska area for O-Con Expo!
Over the years I’ve done a handful of shows out in the midwest, and all of them have been pleasant experiences; Youmacon, NoBrandCon, A-Cen, and Anime St. Louis have all treated me nicely in the past but the days of me being invited out to conventions as a Guest have come and gone, and traveling away from the east coast with travel and hotel costs having skyrocketed since those days is not done lightly. So I mostly stayed on the east coast.
The travel bug was starting to bite at me again, however, and I wanted to see some new cities and meet some new people. So I began looking for shows I could conceivably travel to without the risk of going broke.
Omaha, Nebraska came to mind because I have family out there who have been asking me to visit for years. I looked to see if there were any shows in the area, and I discovered O-Con Expo! I applied on a whim and I was lucky enough to be accepted into their artist alley! So now I get to do a new show, see a new place, meet some new people, and visit family I haven’t seen in a long time! Barring disaster I should be in a good mood all weekend!
New adventures come few and far between as you get older, but I’m lucky enough to be going on one in a matter of days. So be sure to come by and say hi to me if you want to help welcome me back to the midwest!
