As I sit down to write this the night before it posts in the morning, the Kickstarter campaign to reprint Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire THE COMPLETE SERIES Volume 2 stands at 96% funded with 6 days to go. In the morning, when this posts, it will be 5 days to go, and I hope that percentage has gone up so much that it makes this blog obsolete.
Obviously, because it will mean that the funding goal is even closer or it’s been met with a few days to spare. I’m hoping for the latter, but even slow progress is still progress, and I’ll take that over canceled pledges any day of a crowdfunding campaign!
But while I’m also over-the-moon with excitement that the campaign has come as far as it has, I’m also sick to death of talking about it… or in this case, blogging about it. I know it’s necessary but my goodness the constant “PLEDGE! KICKSTARTER! TIME LIMIT! REWARDS! SPREAD THE WORD!” has become tiresome for me. It’s a good thing this crowdfunding burnout has shown itself on my horizon at the conclusion of this campaign. If it had shown itself in the middle, I don’t know if I’d have had the fortitude to promote as hard and as constantly as I have.
I’ll be relieved when this is over. Well, partly. If we reach the funding goal in the next few days, there’s still the matter of fulfilling the pledges, and that’s where the real work begins. But it will be quiet work instead of the constant bullhorn promotion that comes with crowdfunding.
But in the meantime…
THERE ARE ONLY FIVE DAYS TO GO AS OF THIS POSTING! WE’VE ONLY GOT THE REMAINING 4% OF THE FUNDING COST TO COVER! LET’S DO THIS!
