Slow and Steady Goes the Kickstarter

On Monday I launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the second printing of Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire THE COMPLETE SERIES Volume 2. The funding goal is very high in comparison to the 2020 campaign to reprint Volume 1, thanks to the increased cost of… well, everything. It’s moving along at a good pace, and the fact that it’s moving at all still blows my mind.

That’s not me being self-deprecating or down on my work. It’s purely a statement on the numbers regarding the Oracle for Hire years.

The Oracle for Hire series will have concluded ten years ago(!) this May. On top of that, I stepped away from this world and the fantasy genre in general to work on Star Power for seven years after that. Now I’m back to fantasy and this setting, but it’s a much different story that includes none of the characters from the original cast (save for the recent arrival of Jacob Deegan). The fact that there are those of you out there who are still passionate and excited about the Oracle for Hire years is something I am forever grateful for, and I do not take that love for granted.

Would I have loved to announce that the Kickstarter was funded in its first or second day, or even in just a few hours? Absolutely. But as of this writing the campaign is 40% funded, and when you consider those numbers and the funding goal, that’s still pretty impressive after only being live since Monday! But of course, it’s only impressive because of the love you all continue to show me after all these many years.

I remain so very grateful for everything. Thank you.

Now let’s get this book’s second printing funded!
